What it costs, and what you can get off
Every home is different, so we give you a fixed written price after a proper survey — with any grant already taken off. Here's how the money side works.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The heat pump grant
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a government grant in England and Wales, run by Ofgem. It takes money straight off the cost of a heat pump. As an MCS certified installer, we apply for it and deduct it from your invoice — you don't fill in any forms.

Who can get it
- Property owners in England and Wales — homes and non-domestic buildings.
- The heat pump must be replacing an existing fossil-fuel or electric heating system in most cases.
- Not available for most new builds (self-builds can qualify), or for social housing.
What we check at the survey
- That you're the owner (or buying) — the grant is in the owner's name.
- Your current heating, and whether the home is off the gas grid.
- Any earlier government funding for heating, which can affect eligibility.

VAT
0% VAT on energy-saving installs
Heat pumps, solar panels and batteries installed in homes currently carry 0% VAT, until 31 March 2027. Our prices for homes already reflect this.
Solar export
Getting paid for what you export
Electricity you export is paid for through an export tariff from an energy supplier under the Smart Export Guarantee. You'll need the MCS certificate we provide to sign up.

What affects the price
Heat pumps
The size of heat pump (set by your home's heat loss), whether you need a new hot water cylinder, how many radiators need upsizing, and the pipework. Ground source adds the trenches or boreholes.
Solar PV
The number of panels, roof type and access (scaffolding), on-roof or in-roof, or a ground-mount frame, and any upgrades to your fuse board.
Batteries
The battery's size, whether it's joining a new or existing solar system, and where it's fitted.
You'll get a fixed written quote after the survey, with nothing hidden. No pushy sales calls — if it isn't right for your home, we'll tell you.
Questions
Common questions about money
Will a heat pump cost more to run than my oil boiler?
It depends on your oil price, your electricity tariff, and how well the system is designed. A properly designed heat pump running at low temperatures is very efficient, and running costs fall further with solar panels or an electricity tariff designed for heat pumps — we'll recommend one that suits your home. Do I have to pay the grant amount up front and claim it back?
No. We apply for the voucher and take the grant off your invoice, so you only ever pay the balance.
Is there a grant for solar panels or batteries?
There's no Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for solar or batteries, but homes currently pay 0% VAT on them (until 31 March 2027), and you can earn money from exported electricity.
Are solar panels still worth it without the old feed-in tariff?
Yes. Panels have come down a lot in price over the years, and with electricity prices having risen sharply, every unit you make and use yourself is worth more than it used to be. You can also be paid for what you export under the Smart Export Guarantee.
I rent my home — can I apply?
The grant and the contract have to be in the property owner's name, so your landlord would need to get in touch with us.
Do you offer finance?
Not at the moment. We do offer staged payments, so you don't pay the whole cost up front — we'll explain how they work with your quote.
What guarantees do I get?
Every home installation comes with an insurance-backed workmanship guarantee from an MCS-approved provider, covering at least six years from the day it's installed. If there's ever a problem with our workmanship and we can't put it right — for any reason, even if we've stopped trading — the guarantee covers the cost of having it fixed.
The equipment also has its manufacturer's warranty — Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pumps, for example, carry an extended warranty when installed by an approved partner like us, as long as they're serviced every year.
